In 1999 the Competitive Edge Racing School created the first private “Arrive & Drive” stock car racing opportunity in the Country. Wade Gaughran of Bellevue, WA won the inaugural season’s championship and has since. gone on to race in many forms of auto racing including the 24 Hours of Daytona. Justin Marks finished in second place
"This is a heck of a deal when you compare the $7700 investment with fielding a NASCAR Northwest Series team, which would cost you about $30,000 just for the car. Then you'd have to have a truck and trailer and a ton of tools. It'd be probably about $100,000."
Tom Hughs - Arlington, WA
“It was the most competitive and educational racing I have ever done. I feel like I learned more in one year racing with Competitive Edge than most racers learn in 2-5 years in short track weekly racing series competition. I also met a lot of great people and life long friends.”
John Salemi – Nashua, NH
“The distance I had traveled to attend the race school meant that I had to get as much as I possibly could from my visit and Competitive Edge delivered this beyond my expectations.”
Daniel Boys – Aldershot, England UK
in that inaugural season and raced in the NASCAR Truck and Nationwide Series in 2008. Future champions would include Ted Mickelson - now racing late models in South Carolina, Kevin Bryden - a former NASCAR Busch Series team co-owner, Tom Hughs of Arlington, WA who was our first two-time, back to back champion in Competitive Edge Race Series history. Jessica Cyr who not only is our youngest champion at just 18 but, also became our first female champion and went on to race in the CASCAR Series in Canada. Roger Eagan used his championship to spring board his career racing Midwest Super Truck Series. While many of the other racers just keep coming back year after year to compete with Competitive Edge in what has become fierce competition without the hassle of team ownership.
Since the series inception in 1999, over 100 different competitors have got behind the wheel.
What does “Arrive and Drive” mean? It means that in a Competitive Edge Race Series event only the cars in our fleet are on the track. There is no racecar to purchase, to work on, or to transport. All you have to do is show up, put on a suit and helmet and compete in identically prepared racecars in an IROC (International Race of Champions) type of series. The Competitive Edge Racing School provides all of the racecars, equipment, and crew.
The Competitive Edge Racing School’s Championship Race Series is now entering its "Decade of Racing" season and the title is up for grabs. Isn’t it time you got behind the wheel? Get pre-registered for all of this season’s action. You can go racing for just a weekend – or compete for the Championship.
